I love to expand my own knowledge; I consider myself a committed life-long learner.
I have explored varied interests through classes, workshops, and immersion residential trainings my entire adult life. My explorations have included topics of philosophy, psychology, psychodrama, dreamwork, mythology, mysticism, social justice issues, language and culture (specifically Deaf and Native American communities), LGBTQ issues, women’s and alternative health, aromatherapy, and labyrinth.
For formal education, I entered Johnson State College in 2007 as a non-traditional adult student with nearly 80 credits granted for previous life learning experiences. In 2009, I graduated summa cum laude with a self-designed BA in Body-Mind-Spirit Integrative Wellness.
I like being able to craft my own educational path, and Johnson State College is a great place to be able to do that, so in 2012 I completed my Masters degree in Education at JSC, too, through another self-designed program. My masters degree combined Counseling with Complementary & Alternative Medicine (CAM) education.
My final research project was a phenomenologically-inspired study of seven participants who had an aromatherapy Reiki session with me, and who explored those experiences through reflection and interviews.
Excerpts from this research paper are available under the What is Reiki. I hope to eventually share the full final paper online.
My unique undergraduate and graduate degrees each reflect and support my personalized approach to my wellness practice.
I believe there are there are myriad paths to wholeness: YOUR path to balanced wellness is as unique as YOU are!
Therefore, as a wellness practitioner and educator, I offer customized services that meet your goals – ranging from simple relaxation to complex life-path insight & support – through a combination of energy work, other healing-support modalities (sound, “Tapping,” talk, aromatherapy, etc.), and various intuitive tools. You & I decide together which would create the best session for you at that time.
In addition to providing sessions, one of my favorite things to do is teach Reiki. I offer training so that you can “take your wellness into your own hands!” 🙂
My Reiki classes include all levels of Usui Reiki lineages. See my Training page for more detail.
For many years, I was the Lamoille County Regional Membership Coordinator for the Vermont Reiki Association, a terrific state association which sadly has now been dissolved but for several decades was the only State association for Reiki in the US!
